Senator Chris McDaniel’s Incredible Record in the Mississippi Senate

Delbert Hosemann has run a campaign based on lies, deception, smears, mudslinging, and personal attacks. He has become “Delbert the Desperate.” He has a terrible record of very few accomplishments, and the achievements he does have are in support of the liberal agenda.

One big lie Hosemann and his minions are constantly telling is that Senator Chris McDaniel has had zero conservative accomplishments in the Senate. He is, they say, a man with no record at all. But it’s just more deception.

Here are some of Chris McDaniel’s major accomplishments during his time in the Mississippi Senate:

Mississippi Student Religious Liberties Act, a law that protects prayer in public schools, and has been used several times to protect the rights of students to freely exercise their religious liberty.

Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act of 2011 to restrict abortion in Mississippi.

Karen’s Law, a law that protects child victims by instituting harsher punishments for criminals who prey on society’s most vulnerable.

Nathan’s Law, which strengthened the penalties for passing a stopped school bus with stiffer fines, lengthier jail time, and suspension of driver’s licenses.

Federal Firearm Ban Cooperation Act to prohibit firearm bans in the state of Mississippi and the Concealed Carry Protection Act to protect the rights of concealed permit holders.

Enhanced Carry Law requires Mississippi to honor any valid concealed carry permits issued by another state and to confer enhanced carry benefits to members of the military. This bill, which became law in 2014, also granted the Department of Public Safety continued authority to enter into written reciprocity agreements with other states if those states require such an agreement before recognizing Mississippi carry permits.

Death Penalty for Terrorism, a bill that makes terrorism a crime punishable by death, thereby making it easier to impose the death penalty in state courts in cases of terrorism.

Employment Protection Act in 2008, also known as the E-Verify law, requires all Mississippi companies to use an Internet-based system to check the legal status of potential employees. The enactment of this law would also prohibit Mississippi companies from employing illegal immigrants.

Mississippi Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Act, a bill that established a twelve-member Small Business Regulatory Review Committee that examines state rules and laws that could impact businesses with fewer than one hundred full-time employees and less than $10 million in gross annual sales or revenues.

Voter Fraud Disqualification, a bill to disqualify anyone from voting who has been convicted of voter fraud.

Armed Forces Absentee Voter Law to protect the voting rights of members of the military who are absent from the state.

Election Law Task Force, a bill to create a special task force to study the status of Mississippi’s election process and make recommendations for reforms.

False Reporting of a Crime, a bill that incorporated the “Broderick Rashad Danti Dixon Act” into law, enhancing for falsely reporting a crime and provides that the crime victim has the right to receive a copy of the initial incident report.

  • Killed the terrible Voter ID bill Delbert was pushing for that created early voting options and restored felon’s rights to vote and then brought forward strong language that was passed via the ballot initiative process
  • Led the fight against then-Governor Haley Barbour who vetoed a bill to protect private property rights from eminent domain abuse
  • Killed a bill to increase the pay of state legislators

And he’s authored or coauthored roughly 300 additional bills.  Such as:

  • Term Limits
    • Elimination of the Income Tax
    • Repeal of the Inventory Tax
    • Recall
    • Election integrity
    • Gun rights
    • Insurance reform
    • Bill directing more school funding to classrooms and away from administration
    • Tougher penalties on violent crimes
    • Bills protection children
    • Bills protecting vulnerable adults
    • Requiring civics test for graduation
    • Bills to protect free speech
    • Bills to protect citizens private information

He has been consistently ranked the top conservative in MS Senate by CPAC and other conservative organizations

  • CPAC Award for Conservative Excellence
  • AFP Champion for Freedom
  • Verified Conservative recognition by American Family Association
  • BIPEC Best for Business
  • Legislator of the Year by MS Highway Patrol
  • Legislator of the Year by Law Enforcement Officers Association
  • Distinguished Service Award by Dept of Corrections
  • Legislator of the Year by Mothers Against Drunk Drivers
  • Named Best for Small Business by NFIB
  • A+ rating with the NRA

So, as you can see, Chris McDaniel has been one of Mississippi’s top conservatives. Don’t believe the lies and smears from Delbert Hosemann! He is the man with no conservative accomplishments!
